Renault Kwid E-Tech EV will be the first all-electric car from the French brand in India. The first-ever spy photos revealed the new electric car design.
The Renault Kwid E-Tech EV has been spied testing on the Brazilian roads with camouflaged body panels and revealing the production-ready design. The all-electric hatchback is ready to be launched in the South American market by this month end.
There have been a lot of rumors since Renault made the statement in 2020 that they are readying an electric version of the Kwid hatchback which was supposed to be launched in the Indian market by the current year 2022. Although, the plans of the EV now seem to have been delayed as rumors have taken over the internet that Renault won't bring the electric Kwid in India.

The spotted car is already been sold in the Chinese market branded as K-ZE while in the European market, Dacia Spring uses the same underpinnings of the electric Kwid hatchback. Talking about the technical specifications, the electric Kwid features a relatively small battery pack of 26.8 kWh which makes the K-ZE capable of achieving 295 km of WLTP (World Harmonized Light Vehicles Test Procedure) range; while the Dacia Spring claims to provide 271 km of NEDC (New European Driving Cycle) range. This battery pack enables the electric Kwid to churn out a peak power figure of 44 bhp and peak torque figure of 125 Nm.
Looking at the spy shots, the upcoming electric hatchback from Renault looks just like the ICE-powered siblings. The only difference to spot is the front grille covered to make the electric vehicle more aerodynamically stable. While this electric Kwid might be held for launch in the Indian market by Renault for now; the car maker is considering the launch of premium Megane E-Tech all-electric crossover in the Indian market soon.
