Royal Enfield 250cc Bike: What To Expect?
As per an online report, the cult motorcycle maker Royal Enfield is looking to step into the 250cc bike segment. For a long time, a platform codenamed 'V', was on hold by the management. Now, it seems that it has been given a green flag to hit the production stage in the coming years. The 'V' platform is essentially going to be a simple architecture 250cc engine. Most likely, it will be an air-cooled unit with a long-stroke configuration.
The Hunter 350's success has tremendously worked for the company's fortune. Hence, a new lower-budget segment is targeted to be explored with this new 250cc platform. While there are no details available about the bikes that will debut with this engine, we suspect that a Hunter moniker can debut with this engine. The expected debut time of the 250cc bikes will be by the end of 2026 or early 2027.
There is also a possibility that Royal Enfield will experiment with the hybrid tech with the 250cc platform. However, these plans are yet in a vegetative state, and we can only hope for such tech to be offered on the production bikes. If we recall history, Royal Enfield used to manufacture 250cc bikes back in the 1950s and 1960s. The 1965 Continental GT was one such popular bike back in the time. Hence, the 250cc platform could help in retracing the historical paths with new-gen technology.

Verdict
The 250cc platform by Royal Enfield can become a game changer in Rs 1-1.5 lakh price bracket. Currently, there are no 250cc bikes available in the Indian market. With the debut of 250cc engine, Royal Enfield will be easily able to pull 180-200cc bike buyers. Also, the 250cc bike would become the new entry-point for customers in the company's portfolio.
