Royal Enfield KX Bobber Based Cruiser Spied for the First Time - Launching Soon?

Of late, Royal Enfield is now going all guns blazing in the Indian market. This Madras-based Indian two-wheeler manufacturer is planning to launch multiple new motorcycles in India in the coming years. The launch of the Royal Enfield Meteor 350 is just around the corner. A few days ago, we also saw the test mule of the production-spec Royal Enfield Hunter/Sherpa. Now, the Royal Enfield KX Bobber based Cruiser motorcycle has been spied on test in India for the first time ever. Here are some more details.

The Royal Enfield KX Bobber Concept was first revealed at the 2018 EICMA. The concept model just looked gobsmacking and it was unlike any other Royal Enfield we have ever seen before. The Indian two-wheeler maker marketed this concept motorcycle as 'the last word in luxury motorcycles'. This concept model was finished in bottle green colour. It got a single-piece cantilevered seat finished in beige leather, all-LED headlights, etc. Also, the concept model was powered by an 838cc, liquid-cooled, V-Twin engine.

However, now the production version of this motorcycle has been spied in India and the bobber has been converted into a cruiser. The motorcycle has some design elements similar to the KX Concept and it looks really good. The spied test mule was not wearing any camouflage and so we can easily see that it sports a very relaxed sitting posture. The motorcycle gets a low seat height, wide handlebars, forward-set footpegs, twin-exhaust pipes and more. Also, it gets upside-down (USD) forks (a first for any Royal Enfield). The motorcycle gets large disc brakes and most likely an all-new frame too.

In these spy images, we can also see how the motorcycle looks and we must admit that it has a very nice aesthetic appeal. The motorcycle sports a neat profile with very minimal body graphics. It gets a three-dimensional logo and golden-coloured stripes on the body. Now, talking about the powertrain of this motorcycle, so while the concept model was powered by a mightly 838cc V-Twin motor. The production-spec version will most likely share the powerplant engine with the 650cc Twins. This means that it will get a 648cc, parallel-twin engine but with slight revisions to suit its characteristics.

The recently spied test mule of the Royal Enfield KX Bobber based Cruiser looks almost production-ready. We believe Royal Enfield will extensively test this motorcycle and it will hit the showrooms floor by mid or end-2021. Once launched, it will be a one-of-a-kind cruiser motorcycle that will indirectly rival against the Jawa Perak and the Kawasaki Vulcan S. Prior to this, Royal Enfield will launch the Meteor 350 and the Hunter/Sherpa in the Indian market. What are your thoughts on this new twin-cylinder Royal Enfield Cruiser?
