Royal Enfield is a very popular two-wheeler manufacturer in the Indian market. The company has a lot of BS6-compliant models in India ranging from entry-level Bullet 350 to the magnificent Continental GT 650. However, with the transition to BS6 emission norms, the Thunderbird 350 series was discontinued and to replace it, the company will soon launch the Meteor 350. Royal Enfield has just announced that the new Meteor 350 BS6 will be launched in India on November 6, 2020. New Design, Multiple Variants and Colour Schemes

The new Royal Enfield Meteor 350 will get a fresh design language. It will sport a retro appeal but will be loaded with modern elements. The Meteor 350 will be available in three variants - Fireball, Stellar and Supernova. The Meteor 350 Fireball will be available in two solid gloss colour shades - Yellow and Red. The Meteor 350 Stellar will be available in three colours - Gloss Metallic Red, Gloss Metallic Blue and Matte Black. The top of the line Supernova variant will be available in two dual-tone colour shades - Blue and Brown. Overall, the Meteor 350 will sport a unique retro classic look.

All-New Platform and Hardware

The upcoming 2020 Royal Enfield Meteor 350 BS6 will be based on an all-new platform. It will be based on the bikemaker's new J-platform and it has been internally codenamed as J1D. This new platform will be more modular and improved compared to the current RE platform that underpins Classic and Thunderbird series motorcycles. It will get telescopic forks at the front and dual-shock absorbers at the rear. For braking duties, it will get disc brakes at either end along with dual-channel ABS as standard.

New BS6-compliant Engine

The upcoming Royal Enfield Meteor 350 will be powered by an improved version of the current 350cc engine that powers the Classic 350 and the Bullet 350 BS6. It will get a BS6-compliant 346cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled, fuel-injected engine. This motor will churn out around 20.07 PS of maximum power at 5250 RPM and 28 Nm of peak torque at 4000 RPM. The engine will come mated to a five-speed manual gearbox.

Loaded with Tech and Modern Features

The new Royal Enfield Meteor 350 will be the most feature-loaded RE motorcycle currently on sale in India. It will get a twin-pod instrument cluster, one will be analogue while the other will be a digital unit. It will get a host of connectivity features including app-based smartphone integration, Bluetooth, turn-by-turn navigation, Eco mode, gear-position indicator, fuel bar graph, clock, battery indicator, service reminder, and many more.

Expected Price, Launch Date and Rivals

The new 2020 Royal Enfield Meteor 350 BS6 will be priced around Rs. 1.60 lakhs - Rs. 1.70 lakhs, Ex-showroom Delhi. It will be launched in the Indian market on November 6, 2020. The RE Meteor 350 will rival against the new Honda H'Ness CB 350 BS6, Royal Enfield Classic 350, Jawa Classic & Forty-Two and the Benelli Imperiale 400 BS6.
