Launched in the year 2003, the second-gen Honda City, also known as the Dolphin Honda City, was one of the best selling cars in the segment back then. The car was not only spacious and comfortable but had a completely new design when compared to the outgoing model. To start with, the car came with a 1.5-L i-DSI or the intelligent Dual and Sequential Ignition engine that churned out 77 hp of max power. While the car was not very powerful, it did give excellent fuel economy figures, making it a highly efficient car. In 2005, the brand launched the City ZX with a new 1.5-L IVTEC engine. The updated 2005 model of the second-gen City was also equipped with a CVT gearbox which made the City the first car in the country to come with a CVT gearbox.

The interiors of the car were extremely spacious and comfortable. The seats were supportive and had the right amount of cushioning on them. The rear seat bench was as comfortable as the front seats and also had a central armrest to aid in the overall convenience. With this being said, the second-gen City simply outclasses most of its rivals in terms of comfort and in-cabin experience.
The most iconic thing about the second-gen City was its design language. The car, with its curvy and flared out panels in addition to the sharp headlamps at the front, looked unique and appealed a number of owners. A slight peak in the second-gen Honda City brochure reveals that the car was available in seven colour options. these include - White, Warm Silver, Silver, Pearl, Red, Blue, and Black. It is also worth noting that the brand launched the 10th-anniversary edition of the City in 2007. With this update, the Honda City was now available with features such as ABS.
