Simple Energy is a Bengaluru based electric vehicle manufacturer that released its electric scooters last year in the month of August. With electric mobility picking up the pace significantly, the enterprise was returned with an overwhelming response for its initial offering, Simple One, and managed to fetch around 50,000 bookings in the past six months. Simple Energy eScooter deliveries will commence from June 2022, and the electric vehicle manufacturer has high hopes in terms of future response.
The base variant of the Simple Energy eScooter is the Simple One. It is priced at a premium of Rs. 1.10 lakh (ex-showroom) and has seen great success in terms of volumes. The manufacturer plans to clock at least one lakh sales by the end of the next financial year. The Simple Energy manufacturing facility in Hosur, Tamil Nadu, currently has a capacity to produce 2 lakh units per year which would later be scaled up five times the current capacity seeing the demand and volumes.

The deliveries for the Simple Energy Simple One were scheduled for early 2022. However, the brand wanted to present a robust supply chain network with well-defined delivery timelines to the public. Therefore, the expected deadlines to commence deliveries were pushed ahead to the month of June in 2022. It is suspected that the brand is also working on a more petite electric scooter which would be priced in the bracket of around Rs. 65,000 to Rs. 85,000, aiming to take over the mass segment by the end of 2022.
Simple Energy had recently announced its expansion by commissioning a second manufacturing plant at Dharmapuri, in Tamil Nadu, which is spread over 600 acres of land. This manufacturing facility would be set up to cater to the brand's need to manufacture 1.25 crore eScooters per year and would involve a hefty investment of more than Rs. 2500 crore in the upcoming five years. This aim would escalate the enterprise Simple Energy to become the most prominent electric two-wheeler manufacturer in the world.
