Simple One Electric Scooter - Production Details
Simple Energy debuted its e-scooter long ago. However, due to the new AIS battery norms, they had to reshuffle all of the production plans. Hence, it got delayed in the launch. But, now this new e-scooter is going to be launched in India on the upcoming 23 May. Suspected to be priced at Rs 1.10 lakh. In 2021, Simple One was introduced at a price tag of Rs 1.10 lakh but it didn't hit production. Now, the company has also started production of the e-scooter. The first unit of this e-scooter has recently rolled down the Tamil Nadu-based production plant. As suspected, its deliveries will commence in the coming weeks after its official launch.
Simple One is a futuristic-looking sharply styled e-scooter. It is designed with a youthful appeal and young buyers are going to be more attracted to it. In terms of features, it gets LED lights, a TFT touchscreen with Google Maps, Bluetooth connectivity, etc. However, its main forte is its big 4.8kWh battery pack and the 4.5kW electric motor. This combo helps it in achieving a claimed riding range of up to 300 km. However, the actual riding range of it is claimed to be 236 km per charge. We feel that anything upwards of 200 km is fantastic. Currently, none of its rivals come close to it in terms of range. Its current rivals are Ola S1 Pro, Ather 450X, & TVS iQube.
Verdict
Simple One is going to be a worthy rival to the current premium e-scooter segment. Its long-riding range is going to be a forte. However, with the delayed launch, a lot of customers have already canceled their pre-bookings. Hence, it'll be interesting to see how Simple Energy beats the image bashing with the One. More details will be known when it gets launched on 23 May in India.
