Skoda India Will Hike Prices Of All Their Models From January

In a recent announcement by Skoda India, they have confirmed that they will hike the prices of all their cars from January onwards. Not only Skoda but several other carmakers like Kia, Maruti, Hyundai and more have confirmed about the price hike of several of their models.

If you book the car from January 1, there will an increase of 2.5% in prices and you will be shelling out more money. The reason for the price hike which Skoda has explained is the rising foreign exchange rates and high input costs.

The most affordable product from Skoda India is the Rapid which gives competition to the new Honda City, Hyundai Verna, Maruti Ciaz and Volkswagen Vento. The sedan is so popular that even the production capacity is at the full rate.

Also, the Karoq is available at a heavy discount from the carmaker. The mid-size SUV locks its horn with Volkswagen T-Roc and these both SUVs share the same mechanicals and the platform.

Skoda is also planning to launch the Vision IN SUV which rivals the popular Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos. The SUV was showcased at the 2020 Auto Expo and the same has been spotted on the Indian roads a lot of time. Also, Skoda will bring the facelifted Kodiaq and the Octavia in its new-gen form.

Skoda has now ditched the diesel engine for the petrol ones and they feel that the sales will still be high for their products. It is expected that the new-gen Octavia will launch next year and will directly rival with the Hyundai Elantra which is only competition present in this segment.
