Skoda India Auto is in the news for its various launches post lockdown. Be it the performance-oriented Octavia RS245 sedan, new rapid, superb facelift or the new Kodiaq. With so many cars in line, Skoda also plans on bringing the much-awaited Karoq in the Indian market and that too in a single variant.

Yes, the upcoming Skoda Karoq will be sold in just one variant with all the top-notch features. Since it is a CBU (Completely Built-up Unit), the SUV will attract all import duties and tax once it is launched in India. Interested buyers can book the SUV online at a token amount of Rs 50,000 and will be brought in at dealerships post lockdown.
Now, coming to the details of the upcoming SUV then it will pack the same 1.5L TSI petrol motor like the Volkswagen T-Roc SUV which was launched earlier. It will make an identical 150 PS of power and gets a 7-speed DSG gearbox. Interestingly, there will not be any diesel engine for Karoq or any other Skoda car as they plan out to rule the oil burner once in for all in the Indian markets.
Feature-wise, the Karoq will host dual-zone climate control, a large touchscreen infotainment system, tilt and telescopic steering wheel with multi-functions, powered front seats, auto headlights unit, ambient lighting, panoramic sunroof, a digital instrument cluster, automatic wipers and among others. Skoda will also bring in modern connectivity features like Apple CarPlay and Android Auto with the Karoq.

Safety features on the Karoq include 9 airbags, ABS with EBD, Front and rear parking sensors, Electronic Stability Control and an electronic parking brake. Once launched, the Karoq will be sold in six colour options which are - Magnetic Brown, Candy White, Quartz Grey, Lava Blue, Magic Black and Brilliant Silver.
With all the bells and whistles and being a CBU, Karoq is expected to be priced an upwards of Rs 20 lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi. The baby version of the Kodiaq will compete with Jeep Compass, Volkswagen T-Roc and Hyundai Tucson.
