Skoda is coming with the new-gen Skoda Kodiaq sometime this year and the test mule shots are here. This premium SUV from the Czech carmaker is currently under testing and will replace the current Kodiaq. Once launched, it will directly rival the likes of the Jeep Meridian, Volkswagen Tiguan, and Toyota Fortuner. Skoda also gave out the road map for the future lineup, where the Next-Gen Superb and Kodiaq were teased as well. Since then, these are the first spy shots.
Let's look at the details that we get from under the wraps.
Next-Gen Skoda Kodiaq Test Mule In Pictures
The test mule was spotted testing on international grounds and will be making its way to India as well. The timeline is set for sometime in late 2023. But looking at the heavily camouflaged SUV, we can still make out some details and what to expect. For starters, it is getting ADAS, which is evident by looking closely at the sensors at the front.
The front looks a lot Kodiaq-ish and the proportions largely remain the same. The changes are major with the redesigned Headlamp assembly, the radar for ADAS on the grille, and the front parking sensors. The grille is typical of Skoda and the air intakes are vertically cut out on the extreme ends of the bumper. The bumper again is a freshly designed unit.
Looking at the side profile, we can see the 18-inch alloys with prominent wheel arches. Since this is a 3-row SUV, the length matches its purpose. Apart from this, the interior shots are not available as of now. But according to the company, the cabin is a newly designed space. On top of this, the features list is getting additional points for a more tech-savvy cabin.
VERDICT- Since Skoda made its plan clear to launch the Kodiaq by this year, the testing is being carried out in full swing.
