Mumbai-based start-up Strom Motors has today finally launched its trike in India. This isn't a regular trike, it is an electric trike and for those who don't know, let me tell you that trike is basically a three-wheeled vehicle. The Strom R3 electric trike was originally slated to be launched in March 2020 but due to the coronavirus pandemic, its launch was delayed. Today, the Strom R3 electric trike has been officially launched in India at a starting price of Rs. 4.5 lakhs. Here are all the details about it.
First of all, if we talk about the powertrain of the EV, so it is powered by a 15 kW electric AC motor that churns out 20.4 PS of power and a whopping 90 Nm of torque, mated to a single-speed automatic transmission. The Trike EV comes paired to a lithium-ion battery pack that is claimed to have a 1 lakh+ kilometre of life span. The Strom R3 can be charged via a regular charger that takes just 3 hours to fully juice-up the batteries and the charging port is placed at the rear. It also has an electronically limited top speed of 80 kmph.
