What Is New?
With the 2020 update, the Suzuki Gixxer 250 BS6 now gets a BS6 compliant engine. other than that, there have no changes made to the bike in terms of design or underpinning. The mechanical components are also similar to the outgoing model. The bike is available with two colour options while the Suzuki MotoGP livery showcased at the Auto Expo has been given a miss by the brand.

Engine, Gearbox, and Fuel Economy
The 2020 Suzuki Gixxer 250 BS6 comes with a 249 cc BS6 compliant single-cylinder engine. The engine features fuel-injection and oil-cooling system. The power output from the engine remains the same at 26.5 PS but the peak torque has now been reduced by 0.4 Nm and stands at 22.2 Nm. This engine comes mated to a 6-Speed Transmission which is very smooth to operate. The engine, on the other hand, is refined and has a pleasing sound when pushed hard. The fuel economy figures stand at around 38.5 kmpl.
Ride, Handling, and Suspension
The bike gets telescopic front forks and rear mono-shock shock absorber which makes it ride really well on the roads. While the suspension is on the stiffer side, it is soft enough to absorb the bumps. At the higher speeds, the bike remains planted and there are no undesired vibrations on the handle or on the footpegs.
The bike boasts disc brakes on both ends and also features dual-channel ABS. the braking setup is decent and the bike sheds its speeds in no time. Overall, the brakes and suspension setup of the bike does make the rider feel confident while pushing the bike.
Looks
In terms of looks, the Suzuki Gixxer 250 is one of the best looking bikes in the segment. The bike gets triple beam LED headlamps at the front and a bulky and muscular fuel tank. In addition to this, the bike gets split step-up style seats, twin-muffler with chrome tips and appealing colour schemes. The feature list of the bikes continues to be similar to the outgoing model. The Suzuki Gixxer 250 is available in two colours- silver and black.

Prices and Rivals
The 2020 Suzuki Gixxer BS6 is priced at Rs 1,63,400 (ex-showroom, Delhi). The price difference between the BS4 and the BS6 variant stands at Rs 3,600. The bike rivals against the products such as Bajaj Dominar 250, Royal Enfield Classic 350, Jawa Forty-Two and the upcoming Yamaha FZ25 BS6.
