Maruti Suzuki last year launched the 6 seater variant of the Ertiga MPV in our market to give it a premium appeal and to discrete the taxi fleet image of the Ertiga. Talking about the XL7 here, Suzuki will launch the XL7 in the Indonesian market with 7 seats where the middle row will have space for 3 unlike the XL6 in India with captain seats in the middle row.
At first glance, The exterior of the XL7 looks exactly similar to the XL6 with black cladding all-round, faux skid plates, LED headlamps and taillights, large grille with chrome bar in the middle, roof rails and dual-tone boot layout. The only difference is the different design for the alloy wheels which are assumed to be 16 inches in size. The XL6 in India gets 15-inch all-black alloy wheels which look under-tyred with respect to the dimensions.

The interiors are expected to get all-black treatment with the same continuous AC vent layout on the dashboard. The major difference will be the 7 seat layout instead of 6, the middle row will receive flat seats unlike captain seats in the XL6.

Under the hood of the Suzuki XL7 will be the same 1.5-litre VVT petrol engine with 104 ps and 138 Nm of torque paired with a manual and automatic gearbox. There is no news regarding the launch of XL7 in India as we already have a 7 seater Ertiga and a more premium XL6. The space between the two is less in terms of pricing and we doubt the India launch possibility. However, Maruti Suzuki might showcase the XL7 at the 2020 Auto Expo.
