Suzuki XL7, which is a 7-seat counterpart of the Maruti Suzuki XL6 sold in India gets unveiled in the Indonesian market with the launch being scheduled on 17th February. All the mechanicals are the same as that of the XL6 we get in India. We previously shared the spy shots of the XL7 sans camouflage.
Maruti Suzuki XL6 has received great success in our market and is selling it in good numbers every month despite being just a petrol-only variant. Suzuki will be using the same for the Indonesian markets too, the only major difference is the seating layout, XL7, as the name suggests, comes with 7 seats where the XL6 gets captain seats in the middle row making it a 6 seater MPV.

However, Suzuki calls the XL7 an SUV in the Indonesian market. It comes with a 7 seat configuration and gets a bench seat in the middle row instead of individual captain seats. More changes have been added like 16-inch dual-tone alloy wheels, rear spoiler, dual-tone roof, and some accessories like door visor etc. One unique feature which has been additionally added is a smart e-mirror.

The engine is the same we get in the XL6, 1.5-litre petrol engine with SHVS hybrid technology producing 103 bhp and 138 Nm of torque. The engine is offered with a 5-speed manual and 4-speed torque converter gearbox. On the name of safety, XL7 comes equipped with dual airbags, ABS with EBD, ISOFIX child seat mounts, rear parking sensors and seatbelt reminders. Suzuki XL7 will be launched on 17th February in the Indonesian markets.

We don't expect the launch of the Suzuki XL7 in India as we already have the XL6 and it is actually doing well for Maruti Suzuki. Although we can't give confirmation on this front, MSIL might showcase this at the 2020 Auto Expo to take feedback and response from the general public.
