Switch Mobility Ltd ('Switch') has announced the 'Switch EiV 12', a state-of-the-art electric bus platform for the Indian market. This next-generation E-Bus will meet India's booming bus segment, supported by over ten years of EV expertise. These capable buses are available in two variants: EiV 12 low floor and EiV 12 standard. They offer the finest in reliability, range, and comfort. Over 600 buses are now on order with the company.

Switch EiV 12 is a contemporary and futuristic vehicle with customer-centric technologies and passenger comfort. EiV 12 has remarkable drive performance and economy and is equipped with 'Switch iON,' a patented connected technology solution that allows for remote, real-time diagnostics and monitoring, as well as world-class digital battery management tools. The EiV platform's EV architecture is similar to the recently introduced European Switch e1 bus.

The Switch EiV bus range has been specifically designed to fulfill the needs of customers in a variety of applications, including intra-city, inter-city, staff, school, and tarmac while providing maximum passenger capacity and comfort. The buses also use a new generation of extremely efficient, modular batteries with superior lithium-ion NMC chemistry, which have been carefully developed for the Indian market and climate.

The modular batteries enhance the capacity per battery cell for the same weight, allowing for longer ranges - up to 300 kilometers per day on a single charge and up to 500 kilometers per day with twin gun fast charging. The electric drivetrains and batteries have been optimized to provide high efficiency and long battery life, resulting in a cheaper total cost of ownership. The upkeep of this ultra-modern E-Bus is possible.
The existing line of Switch EV buses in India has a steady uptime of over 98 percent over the previous few years, which is a testament to our product's reliability and endurance. In India, the buses have driven over 8 million kilometers, saving over 5000 tonnes of CO2, the equivalent of planting over 30,000 trees, and thus achieving key strategic milestones in support of the brand's mission.
