Before we go any further and bring you all the latest updates from the production of Tata Safari and how the exteriors and interiors distinguish, make sure you are a member of our exclusive 91Wheels Telegram group where we bring you all the latest information related to the two and four-wheelers.
The first unit of Tata Safari rolled out from the production plant in Pune and will soon be available in the showrooms near you. For the exteriors, the looks have been moulded a little to differentiate it from the 5-seater Harrier. At the front, it now gets a new grille design followed by a stepped-up roof and the raked tailgate. On the inside, the Safari gets new and rich Oyster White colour scheme with ash wood dashboard. It surely gives an upmarket feel to the interiors now.
As far as the dimensions go then the Safari sports the same wheelbase as the Harrier but are now longer by 63 mm. To accomodate the last bench and extra passengers, the height too has been increased by a bit. The new Safari looks macho in appearance.
Unveiling the first official look of the new Tata Safari, Mr. Guenter Butschek, CEO & MD, Tata Motors said, The Safari is our flagship offering to connect the aspirations of the discerning and evolved Indian customer. It had introduced India to the SUV lifestyle and in its new avatar, will carry forward this rich idea to build further its legacy.

The new Tata Safari will be made available with both 6 and 7-seat options and will target the likes of Mahindra XUV500, Jeep Compass and MG Hector Plus. Mechanically, it continues with the same 2.0-litre FCA turbocharged diesel engine churning out 170 PS with 350 Nm of peak torque. It will get a 6-speed manual gearbox as standard and an optional 6-speed auto for the higher variants. We expect that the pricing of the Safari will be Rs 1 lakh premium over the Harrier.
