Dual-Pane Sunroof
One of the biggest USPs of the Thar Armada could be its dual-pane sunroof, a highly demanded feature among Indian customers. Spy shots reveal the SUV in camouflage from a high angle, showing two glass panels on its roof. Additionally, it will also offer a single-pane sunroof, catering to various customer preferences.
Thar Armada Powertrain Options
As reported earlier, the entry-level powertrain for the upcoming Thar Armada will be a 1.5-liter CRDe diesel engine with 130 hp and 300 Nm of torque. Mahindra is also likely to add the 2.0-liter diesel and the 2.2-liter turbo-petrol engines found in the Mahindra XUV700. This provides a total of three powertrain options, giving customers multiple choices. How these engines will perform in the 5-door Thar remains to be seen.

Rivals
The 2-door Thar faces no competition, allowing it to dominate its segment and become the aspirational vehicle for millions of Indians. However, the 5-door Mahindra Thar will directly compete against the Force Gurkha and the Maruti Suzuki Jimny, which has already developed a legendary cult following.
Verdict
The Thar Armada has a lot riding on it, given the high anticipation surrounding it. Will it attract more fans than the 2-door version? Only time will tell, but one thing is certain: it looks promising.
