The Tata Nexon is currently enjoying its leadership of being India's number one SUV brand. The vehicle is available in three fuel types of petrol, diesel and electric. The ICE (internal combustion engine) versions are further available in both manual as well as automatic gearbox options. At the same time, Tata also offers an array of options when it comes to variants and editions. This takes the tally to a whooping 79 different versions that are offered to customers for the Nexon range. All the versions we have shared below are on sale as per Tata Nexon's official website.
Version naming explained
The major version names for the Nexon are XE, XM and XZ. This is applicable to all the fuel types of petrol, diesel and electric. However each of these have further been expanding into various options. For instance 'S' with XM is for the sunroof option. Likewise, the '+' with XM is for the infotainment system and other add-ons. Likewise, '(o)' for the XZ versions will add connectivity and other features for the consumer. Likewise 'P' for the XZ range will add leather seats and other high end features.
And then there are the limited editions of Dark, Kaziranga and Jet editions. For some versions, owners can also pick from DT or dual tone options.

The 1.2-litre turbo petrol is available with both manual as well as AMT automatic option. For the manual itself, there are as many as 19 versions on offer with prices ranging from Rs 7.6 lakh to 12.12 lakh, ex showroom Delhi. The list of all these versions is below

Tata Nexon Diesel Manual
The 1.5-litre turbo diesel engine of the Nexon is very good in terms of both fuel economy and performance. Interestingly, the diesel manual is not available in the base XE variant. As seen here, in all there are 17 different trims that owners can pick from. Pricing for the diesel MT line up ranges from Rs 9.9 lakh to Rs 13.4 lakh, ex-showroom Delhi.
Tata Nexon Diesel Automatic
The Nexon is also offered with optional AMT with the diesel engine. There are 14 different versions on offer and like the petrol AMT line-up, there is no diesel AMT with the base XE variant. Prices for the diesel AMT start from Rs 11.15 lakh and go all the way to Rs 14.08 lakh, ex-showroom Delhi.
So as seen above, there are 19 versions for the petrol manual, 17 each for petrol AMT and diesel MT and 14 for the diesel AMT. This totals up to a staggering 67 versions and no, we aren't done yet.
Tata Nexon EV versions
Tata Motors sells the Nexon EV in both the normal Prime and long range Max editions. Both of these models can be had in as many as 6 versions each. By the way, AC FC WMU below stands for AC fast charger, wall mounted unit. This is something owners can opt for during the purchase period.
So 67 versions for the ICE (internal combustion engine) Nexon models and 12 for the EV one - this totals up to 79!! There is no other car model in India with such a line up. Shocking or a good marketing funda?
