At the 2020 Auto Expo, Tata Motors showcased the upcoming HBX that grabbed everyone's attention. The off-road specced HBX glued everyone with the design, humongous tyres and the accessories all around. Now, a humble production-ready of the Tata HBX has been spied at a workshop.
The clearest pictures of the Tata HBX has now been spied and it showcases what the front profile may look like. It borrows inspiration from the Nexon and Harrier. Like a fusion of both. The bumper styling and the split headlight setup like the Harrier and the grille design takes inspiration from the Nexon.
Needless to say, it surely grabs attention. This car will rival the likes of Maruti Ignis and Mahindra KUV100 NXT when it'll be launched. The bi-arrow design on the lower part of the bumper sticks around and to give it an aesthetic look, the HBX gets black cladding all around the body. Even the front and rear bumper are in black to give the HBX a raw outlook.

This one appears to be a top-spec model as we can see the dual-tone alloy wheels and fog lights at the front. The front gets headlights at the bottom while the LED DRLs at the top. This is a dual-tone colour option with blue on the body and white contrast seen on the roof and the ORVMs.
The next spy shot is in the popular white shade and the rear design is flanked by wraparound taillights with vertical reflectors at the bumper. The roof rails make up for the aesthetics but we are not really sure if they are functional yet.
These are the clearest spy shot to date showcasing how the exteriors of the HBX will look like. Similarly, as for the interiors we are expecting a touchscreen infotainment unit with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Other features like an automatic climate control, multi-function steering wheel, cooled glove box and among others are expected.

We expect that the HBX carries a strong bodyshell as the Tiago carries itself. Or maybe a stronger one. Under the hood, the HBX will carry a 1.2-litre, three-cylinder, naturally aspirated petrol motor. This engine generates 84 bhp with 113 Nm of peak torque and will be mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox. Tata will also bring in the optional AMT options.
