As the new guidelines are about to come and the third phase of India lockdown is reaching its end, various carmakers have started their operations again and dealerships are restarted with safety arrangements in place. The carmaker will follow strict guidelines and practice social distancing at the dealership level too. All the staff will be checked and screened regularly. The company will also continue to closely review the developments in each region and will take necessary steps basis the eventualities that may arise in the future. Toyota India resumes operations with just 171 dealerships, other dealerships will be restarted soon after the lockdown.
Mr. Masakazu Yoshimura, Managing Director, TKM said, We are grateful to the Government for its cautious and well-calculated decisions. While the lockdown was a necessary step to counter the virus spread and curb the consequences triggered by the pandemic, it is paramount to reignite confidence among customers, and stakeholders and boost their morale, during these difficult times. As we gradually recommence operations, we are ensuring the safety and wellbeing of all our stakeholders while simultaneously safeguarding business continuity.
Toyota Kirloskar India also stated that 75% of their suppliers have granted permission to restart their operations and the remaining will get the permission soon. Hence, the ongoing lockdown won't affect the production largely. The company has also developed certain crucial changes in guidelines for enhanced safe operations in all areas of work which would mean that the first few days will be spent on training the members on these renewed guidelines as well as ensuring safe materials and working environment.

In recent news, Toyota has launched the updated Camry Hybrid BS6 in the Indian market and it features the same powertrain as before. Toyota India is also working on the Urban Cruiser which will be launched in the Indian market soon.
