Toyota India is currently working on expanding its line-up in the country and recently filed a trademark for the Innova Hycross. A number of reports however suggest that the new Innova Hycross will be a hybrid iteration of the Innova Crysta. The brand also revealed its plan to promote and introduce new hybrid vehicles in the country. Having said this, the brand is also working on introducing a new mid-size SUV in the coming months. Here are all the details that we know so far.
Soon after introducing the new Toyota Hum Hain Hybrid campaign in the country, the Japanese carmaker is expected to introduce a number of new vehicles with hybrid vehicles. The brand is currently offering two hybrid vehicles in its line-up - Toyota Camry and the Toyota Vellfire. A number of reports suggest that the new Innova Hybrid will make an official debut next year while a variant of the new Innova was recently spotted on test in India.

Toyota is also expected to introduce the next-gen Innova next year that will be based on a new platform, updated powertrain options, and a new cabin. The silhouette however is expected to remain similar to the existing model. Unlike before, the new Innova and the new Innova Hycross may boast the new TNGA platform that helps in improving the driving dynamics and in-cabin experience.
Currently, the Innova Crysta is being offered with two engine options that include a 2.7-L petrol engine and a 2.4-L diesel engine. Both these engines are offered with a manual as well as an automatic gearbox. The upcoming Innova however may not be available with a diesel motor. More details however are yet to be revealed.
