Toyota Corolla Cross
While the Corolla Cross is currently a standard five-seater globally with a 2640mm wheelbase, the Indian variant is poised for a noteworthy transformation. Expecting an extended wheelbase of approximately 150mm, the Indian iteration will accommodate a third row of seats, presenting a more spacious and distinctive profile compared to the global Corolla Cross. Globally, Toyota offers various powertrain choices for the Corolla Cross, encompassing 1.8-liter and 2.0-liter naturally-aspirated petrol engines, as well as 1.8-liter and 2.0-liter petrol-hybrid powertrains.

Anticipated for the India-spec version is the introduction of 2.0-liter petrol-hybrid powertrain options, potentially tuned differently for the seven-seater Corolla Cross. This aligns with the prevailing demand for hybrid variants, evident in models like the Urban Cruiser Hyryder and Innova Hycross.
3-Row SUV Based On Hyryder
The upcoming three-row Hyryder is set to share a common production setup with the standard Hyryder SUV and its badge-engineered counterpart, the Grand Vitara. Last year, reports indicated that Maruti had initiated work on the three-row Grand Vitara (codenamed Y17), scheduled to be manufactured at Maruti's new Karkhoda plant, with production set to commence in 2025. The three-row Hyryder, based on the Grand Vitara, will be produced and supplied by Maruti to Toyota. While maintaining the same wheelbase, the three-row Hyryder is expected to feature a slightly elongated rear overhang to accommodate the third row.
In a departure from the production arrangement for the two-row versions, where Toyota builds and supplies to Maruti, the three-row version will follow the opposite process. Positioned alongside the Innova Hycross, this new SUV is aimed at customers eyeing vehicles such as the Alcazar, XUV700, and the Safari.
