Toyota Kirloskar Motors (TKR) today launched the much-awaited Urban Cruiser Hyryder CNG in the domestic market. At a starting price of Rs. 13.23 lakh (ex-showroom), the CNG-powered version of the mid-size SUV is available in two variants, G and S. For reference, the Japanese carmaker confirmed the arrival of Hyryder E-CNG in 2022.

Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder CNG Launched: Price
The price of the E-CNG trims of Urban Crusier Hyryder starts from Rs. 13.23 lakh (ex-showroom), going all the way up to Rs. 15.29 lakh (ex-showroom).

Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder CNG Launch: Powertrain
Much like the Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara CNG, the CNG variant of Hyryder is also powered by the 1.5 litre K15C petrol engine mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox. The power output from the motor stands at 87.8 bhp and 121.5 Nm of peak torque. When put in petrol mode, the figures go up to 100.6 bhp and 136 Nm of peak torque. The claimed fuel efficiency figure stands at 26.6 km/kg. In addition to this, the Urban Cruiser Hyryder is also available in self-charging Strong Hybrid Electric as well as the Neo Drive variants.

Verdict: The launch of the CNG-powered Urban Crusier Hyryder has opened another option for customers considering an alternative fuel vehicle in the mid-size SUV segment. However, the prices are on the higher side when compared to the Grand Vitara CNG, customers inclined towards Toyota brand value will happily opt for this SUV.
