Today, we will be discussing the sales figures of two-wheelers for the month of August 2020. As we have seen an upward trajectory in the sales of cars, the same is true for two-wheelers too. Most of the two-wheeler manufacturers in India have recorded growth in sales, however, some are still lagging behind. So, today we list for you the figures of Two-wheeler Sales of August 2020.
Two-wheeler Sales August 2020
Hero MotoCorp
Hero MotoCorp is the largest two-wheeler manufacturer in the country. This Indian two-wheeler manufacturer always tops the sales chart and in August this year, the company has sold 5,68,674 vehicles in India. This is a very healthy sales figure and the two-wheeler maker has registered around 8.52 per cent YoY growth. For reference, in August 2019, Hero MotoCorp has sold 5,24,003 two-wheelers in the country. Hero's Indian portfolio includes a wide variety of scooters and motorcycles like the Splendor, HF Deluxe, new Xtreme 160R, Maestro Edge, Pleasure, Xpulse 200, etc.
Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India
Following Hero MotoCorp, the next two-wheeler manufacturer in our list is Honda. Honda Motorcycles & Scooters India Private Limited has registered a very minute 0.60 per cent YoY growth last month. In August 2020, this Japanese two-wheeler maker sold 4,28,231 vehicles in the country. While in the same period last year, Honda sold 4,25,664 two-wheelers in the Indian market. Honda sells a variety of two-wheelers in India which include Activa 6G, Dio, Activa 125, Shine, SP 125, X-Blade, new Hornet 2.0 and many more.

TVS Motor Company
TVS is a very popular two-wheeler manufacturer in the country. In recent times, TVS has launched some great products like the Apache 200 4V, NTorq 125, Apache 160 4V, Apache RR 310, etc. This new-age high-tech and performance-oriented TVS products are loved by the enthusiasts and the youngsters. In August 2020, TVS has sold 2,18,338 two-wheelers in India while in the same period last year, this Indian two-wheeler manufacturer retailed 2,19,528 units. This means that TVS has registered a de-growth of 0.54 per cent but we expect the sales figures will improve in the coming months.
Bajaj Auto
While most other two-wheeler manufacturers retail both motorcycles and scooters in India, Bajaj sells only motorcycles, save for the Chetak Electric. In the month of August 2020, Bajaj has sold 1,78,220 units of two-wheelers in India and the company has registered a nominal YoY growth of 3 per cent. In the same period last year, Bajaj Auto has sold 1,73,024 units. Bajaj's Indian portfolio includes a lot of motorcycles ranging from the entry-level CT 100 & Platina to sporty Pulsars and hyper-tourers like the Dominar.
Suzuki Motorcycle India
Suzuki Motorcycle India Private Limited has sold a decent number of two-wheelers last month. However, Suzuki has not performed very well and this Japanese two-wheeler company has recorded a YoY de-growth of 15.31 per cent. In August 2020, Suzuki has sold 53,142 units in the Indian market but in the same period last year, Suzuki retailed 62,752 two-wheelers in the country. Suzuki's Indian portfolio includes scooters like the Access 125 and Burgman Street and motorcycles like the Gixxer series, Intruder, etc.
Royal Enfield
The last motorcycle manufacturer in our list is Royal Enfield. This Indian two-wheeler manufacturer has also registered a 2.42 per cent YoY de-growth in sales. But, we believe Royal Enfield's sales will surely improve in the coming months. That's because this Indian two-wheeler maker will launch a lot of new motorcycles in the near future. In August 2020, Royal Enfield sold 47,571 units. While in the same period last year, the company retailed 48,752 units. At present, Royal Enfield's Indian portfolio includes Bullet 350 series, Classic 350 series, 650 Twins and Himalayan. The company will launch the new RE Meteor 350 in India this month.
