Ultraviolette Automotive released its first performance-oriented electric motorcycle, the F77, a few months ago. Now, at the 2023 Auto Expo, the company has announced its entry into the electric motorsport category with the unveiling of the Ultraviolette F99 Factory Racing Platform. The F99 is India's first high-performance electric motorcycle. According to the brand, the F99 Factory Racing Platform draws inspiration from both worlds - aviation and racing - to develop technologies and capabilities for electric motorcycles that push the bounds of the imagination.

Ultraviolette F99 Factory Racing Platform
The F99 Factory Racing Platform was designed to extract maximum power from the powertrain while passing all necessary safety testing, resulting in a peak power output of 65 BHP and a top speed of more than 200 km/h. With its sophisticated battery technology, drivetrain engineering, material innovation, including carbon composites, and utilising principles of high-speed aerodynamics, Ultraviolette is leapfrogging technology advancement and R&D in India with the F99 Factory Racing Platform.
The F99 is based on its smaller twin, the F77, but adds configurable ergonomics features such as handlebar bar and foot peg adjustment to meet the needs of the rider. When it comes to the high-performance F99's hardware, it has USD forks on the front and a mono-shock absorber on the back. It rides on 17-inch alloy wheels wrapped in Pirelli Diablo Supercorsa tyres. Front and rear disc brakes with ByBre calipers do the braking duty.

Commenting on the unveiling, Narayan Subramaniam, Co-founder and CEO, Ultraviolette, said, The world of racing is extremely challenging as it forces the vehicle to be pushed beyond its limit, and this is what leads to innovation. The F99 Factory Racing Platform led us to think beyond conventional technologies in the EV space today. Verdict: The Ultraviolette F99 is designed solely for motorsport, since the manufacturer has stated plans to launch their own road racing series. The F99's release date has yet to be announced by the brand.
