Hyundai launched its full-size SUV, the Palisade to take on big American SUVs in the US. It has gigantic proportions and seats 7 or 8 people depending on the variant. Some online reports now suggest that Hyundai might be planning to launch the Palisade in India to play rivalry with cars like the Toyota Fortuner, Ford Endeavour and Mahindra Alturas G4. Hyundai also has the Tucson facelift in its belly, the one they showcased at the 2020 Auto Expo and it will get launched soon.

Dimensions wise, Hyundai Palisade excels when compared to Ford Endeavour which has the biggest dimensions in its segment. Hyundai Palisade measures 4980x1975x1750 mm with a wheelbase of 2900 mm. On the other hand, Ford Endeavour measures 4903x1869x1837 mm with a wheelbase of 2850 mm. Except in height, Palisade excels Endeavour in every other dimension and it is a bigger car here.
Talking about the looks, Palisade gets one of the biggest Hyundai's Cascading grille upfront with chrome borders, 3-part split LED headlights with DRLs as we saw in 2020 Hyundai Creta and scuff plate in the front bumper. The side profile gets 20-inch wheels, black cladding and chrome garnishing on window surroundings. The rear profile gets inverted LED combination lamps, rear fog lights and dual-exhaust tips.

Moving to the interior, Hyundai Palisade gets 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto, Apple Car Play, Bluelink and 360-degree parking camera; Driver's HUD display, 7-inch MID, two sunroofs, Three-zone climate control, wood inserts on the dashboard, 10-way adjustable driver's seat, wireless charging, ventilated seats, 6 airbags, blind-spot monitoring, drive mode and terrain mode select, powered tailgate, optional middle captain chairs among many other features.
Talking about the engines, internationally, Hyundai Palisade gets 3 engine options- 3.8 GDI petrol engine with 295 Ps and 355 Nm of torque, 3.5-litre MPI petrol engine with 277 Ps and 335 Nm of torque and a 2.2-litre TCI diesel engine with 200 Ps and 440 Nm of torque. All the three engines are paired with 8-speed automatic transmission and all engines are available with both FWD and AWD drivetrains.
India launch of the Hyundai Palisade is under consideration and Hyundai is evaluating the market for its launch. Hyundai might bring the Palisade in India via CKD route and assemble here as CBU would be expensive and not viable in this segment. We expect it to be priced near 35-40 lakhs and it will be available with 2.2-litre diesel engine with 8-speed AT. Hyundai might also give a petrol engine as an option too. We expect the India launch of the Hyundai Palisade to happen early next year.
