Upcoming 2020 SUVs In India Under Rs 15 Lakh

India is a growing market in cars and many car manufacturers have been updating their plants to cater to the needs of the Indian buyers. And here we will be talking about the popularity of SUVs and how this segment is booming. By now you have an idea that here, in this article, we will be telling you the upcoming 2020 SUVs which will be priced under Rs 15 lakh.

Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza Facelift
The unbeatable sub-4-metre compact SUV, Maruti Brezza rules the heart of Indians. We say this because of the sales figure this car has achieved an all-time high despite available in a diesel engine only. Now, it is time for a facelift for the Brezza that is expected in February 2020. It will include minor changes to the headlights, taillights, styling updates and subtle cosmetic changes. The alloy wheels design can be different too.

The highlight though is the availability of a petrol engine which was not present since its launch in March 2016. Maruti will ditch the 1.3-litre DDiS diesel engine for a refined 1.5-litre, in house petrol engine. The latter is used in the Maruti Suzuki Ciaz and Ertiga and XL6.

Kia Compact SUV (QYI)
The South Korean manufacturer is ruling the Indian market in the subcompact SUV market with the Seltos. The plan of Kia Motors is to bring in the SUVs first as this market is welcomed by every buyer.

This compact SUV from Kia Motors will debut at 2020 Auto Expo and is expected to go on sale in the mid-2020. It will use the same engine as available in the Hyundai Venue. That means 1.0-litre turbo petrol will come on-board and the new 1.5-litre BS6 compliant diesel engine will be on offer too. The latter comes under the partnership of Hyundai and Kia.

The styling of this compact SUV comes from the recently launched Kias crossover, Xceed. It is not sure if it will come with an option of diesel automatic or not.

Mahindra Thar
One of the most important upcoming 2020 SUVs is this. The all-new Thar will enter the market with a bang. We say it because of the numerous changes that will come with this hardcore SUV. The styling bits, availability of hardtop, revamped interior design and among others. A touchscreen infotainment system, reverse camera, improved safety features are some of the big changes in this.

Another highlight is the all-new diesel BS6 compliant diesel engine. The 2.2-litre one will be borrowed from the Scorpio and will produce a whopping 140 bhp. It will be mated to a 6-speed manual transmission.

Mahindra XUV500
The second-gen Mahindra XUV500 is built on a shared platform which will be seen on an upcoming Ford SUV too. The upcoming SUV will lose out on the signature cheetah clawed door handles and if reports are to be believed then it will carry the soft-touch door handles which are seen on the Land Rover Velar.

Another highlight is the inclusion of the new BS6 compliant diesel engine which will now produce 170 bhp. A petrol engine will be on the offer too and multiple gear options for both the engines will be there.

Mahindra Scorpio
2020 will be an amazing year for Mahindra as most of its best selling SUVs portfolio will be upgraded. And Scorpio is another one which will see major changes in terms of designs and mechanicals. With the new interior and exterior design, the Scorpio will continue to use the ladder-on-frame chassis which gives the vehicle a solid structure. A BS6 compliant turbocharged diesel engine will be used which is expected to churn out at least 140 bhp.

Mahindra XUV300 Electric
Electric cars are the future and so Mahindra will also bring its popular compact SUV, XUV300 in the electric mode. It is expected to receive a battery pack of 40kWh which will return a significant 300 km on a full charge.

It will rival with the likes of Tata Nexon and other big competitors like the Hyundai Kona and MG ZS EV. The price range is expected to sit between Rs 14 lakh to Rs 15 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) when launched.

Hyundai Creta
Once a fierce competition in the market, it lost its value to the recently launched Kia Seltos. The next-gen Hyundai Creta will sit on a new platform and will add some good USPs to differentiate it from the Seltos.

The design of the SUV will be completely new and the interiors too will be given an update. Under the hood, it will borrow the same BS6 compliant petrol and diesel engines which makes 115 bhp. Also, a turbo petrol unit will be on the offer too and a variety of automatic transmissions are expected when itll be launched.

Tata Nexon Facelift
Launched back in 2017, it was a great hit for the Indian manufacturers as it made its place in the compact SUV market successfully. Known for the safest Indian car it grabbed eyeballs as it scored 5 stars in the Global NCAP ratings.

Upcoming 2020 SUVs

Now, the compact SUV is due for some change and a facelift will be launched in early 2020. A new touch screen infotainment system along with a fully digital instrument cluster will be one. Also, the front and rear bumpers will be tweaked along with the headlights and the Daytime Running Lights (DRLs).

Force Gurkha
The Mahindra Thar rival, Force Gurkha is all set to receive some updates in 2020. Under the hood, Force is expected to replace the 2.6L diesel engine with a 2.2-litre one. Also, hard top and soft top variants will be available and will get convenience features and the quality of interiors will be improved too.

Skoda Kamiq
The Czech manufacturers will finally debut the much-awaited Kamiq SUV at the 2020 Auto Expo. This mid-size SUV will rival the MG Hector, Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos. It is the Volkswagen-Skoda 2.0 plan and sits on the MQB AO IN platform.

Upcoming 2020 SUVs

It will borrow styling details from the elder sibling, Kodiaq. Some of the highlights on the safety features list include 9 airbags, lane assist and an autonomous emergency braking system. Under the hood, it is expected to carry a 1.5-litre petrol engine and no diesel engine will come on board.
