Just recently we brought you the information about the launch of upcoming Tata Altroz turbo on January 13 and now the Indian carmaker has released a new teaser video regarding the same. In this video, Tata gives out the message, Turbocharge into 2021 which not only gives New Year's greeting but also indicated the launch of the Altroz turbo.

Sharing details on the engine spec, the Altroz turbo will come with a 1.2-litre turbo petrol unit which is seen on the popular Nexon. Although it is the same engine, Altroz will see a drop in power and the new figure will stick to 110 PS with 140 Nm of peak torque. Please note that in the Nexon, the power sticks to 120 PS and 170 Nm of torque.

When launched, the Altroz turbo will be competing with the Hyundai i20 turbo petrol and the Volkswagen 1.0L TSI. The i20 delivers 120 PS with 172 Nm of peak torque which is the same engine as seen on the Venue and new Verna. It gets a standard 6-speed iMT gearbox and an optional 7-seed DCT.
On the other hand, the 1.0L TSI of Polo generates 110 PS with 175 Nm of peak torque. It gets a 6-speed manual gearbox and an optional 6-speed AT unit. Sharing details on the Altroz turbo then it will either feature a 5-speed manual or a 7-speed DSG unit.

Styling-wise, it will get turbo badging at the front and rear but apart from that, we expect no changes at all. Coming to the prices then it is expected to start from Rs 7.50 lakh and top model fetching till Rs 9.0 lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi.
