According to the sources, the Tata Safari will be made available in four variants - XE, XM, XT and XZ of which the latter two will get the large panoramic sunroof. It is clear that Tata does not want to miss out on a feature which is largely loved by the Indian market.

The upcoming Tata Safari will be made available in both 6 and 7 seat options and will come in three colour options at first - Orcus White, Daytona Grey and Royale Blue. Like the Harrier badging at the rear, Tata will be portraying the Safari the same way.
It should be noted that both Safari and Harrier share the same wheelbase of 2741 mm, however, the Safari is 63 mm longer and about 80 mm taller than the Harrier. It is because to accomodate for the additional bench at the last row.
What remains constant is that the Safari will share the same mechanicals as the Harrier. Yes, it will feature the same 2.0-litre, four-cylinder, turbocharged BS6 compliant diesel engine which makes 170 PS of power with a peak torque of 350 Nm. This engine is mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox and an optional 6-speed automatic unit.

Like the exteriors, we can expect the interiors to be altered with a new set of upholstery among with added new features like a 360-degree camera, wireless charging and among others. Rest, all pieces of equipment and features will follow from the Harrier.
The car will be unveiled on January 26 and will rival with the likes of MG Hector Plus. We expect it to see a premium of Rs 1 lakh over the Harrier prices but the final set is yet to be announced. Will it take over the sales of MG Hector Plus? We can only find that out later.
