The new plant is expected to generate USD 150 million in private investment and over 3,000 employment in the state, in line with the state's goal of becoming a global centre for electric vehicle (EV) and energy storage manufacturing.
This is the largest investment in EV manufacturing announced in the State this year, coming shortly after another California-based company Fisker announced its second headquarters in Hyderabad. The State is committed to promoting clean industries and promises to extend all benefits to the company admissible under the government policy, KT Rama Rao, Telangana's Industries Minister, stated.
The Taskman is a popular last-mile delivery vehicle from the brand which is used in 15 countries throughout the world, including Japan, the United States, the United Kingdom, France, Portugal, Germany, Lebanon, Uganda, Kenya, Senegal, Nepal, Bangladesh, Dubai, and India.
Bilti has assembly plants in the United States, Portugal, and Kenya, in addition to manufacturing facilities. Amazon, Ikea, BigBasket, Zomato, Flipkart, and Grofers are among the companies that utilise Taskman.

Biliti's primary technological advances set it apart from the competition. Its SmartSwapp technology enables vehicle batteries to be replaced in under one minute, overcoming obstacles such as a lack of charging infrastructure, inconsistent electric grid, range, and time constraints for delivery drivers.
