Leading e-bike maker and electric mobility-based solutions company, VanMoof has announced the launch of the brands first high-speed electric bicycle- VanMoof V that has the potential to reach speeds of up to 60kmph. The said bicycle is much faster than the brands current lineup of e-bikes that are capped at 25kmph. The brand has launched the pedal-assisted V as a challenge to make IC vehicle owners rethink and reconsider EVs, for their daily commute in the city.
As for the e-bike, the chiselled design gives it an aesthetic appeal that customers have demanded in the past. It is a muscular e-bicycle that is equipped with powerful motors in the front as well as rear-wheel hubs. The motor gets the juice from a 700Wh battery which is quite sufficient to go on longer rides. It also gets bigger tyres with front and rear suspension coupled to a strong and durable aluminium frame. In addition to this, VanMoof offers Turbo Boost Button, Keyless kick lock, anti-theft and recovery technology and most importantly an automatic shifting function for convenience.
"The VanMoof V is our first hyperbike, an e-bike dedicated to higher speed and longer distance. I believe this new type of high-speed e-bike can fully replace scooters and cars in the city by 2025," said Ties Carlier, Co-Founder of VanMoof

He further added that "We're calling for policies designed around people, rethinking how public spaces can be used if not occupied by cars. I am getting very excited thinking about what a city could look like in the near future, and we are very proud to be part of the change by building the right tools for the transition."
VanMoofs co-founders Ties and Taco Carlier are asking lawmakers and the government to urgently update the regulation related to the e-bike so as to advance further adoption of such e-bikes. VanMoof has plans to work along with city governments to find solutions from geofencing to revised speed regulations.
Regarding the price, the VanMoof V will be initially sold in the Netherlands, Germany, France, the UK, the US, and Japan for $3,498 ,3,498and #3,498 respectively.
