Vietnam's electric vehicle brand, VinFast, plans to begin its India journey. Recently, the brand inaugurated its manufacturing facility in the country, patented an electric car for the Indian market, and patented an electric scooter. VinFast Klara S Patented
The latest patent for the Klara S has surfaced in India. The scooter appears to be designed as a family-oriented model, blending in with the conventional scooters commonly found in the Indian market. Its design adopts a straightforward approach, catering well to family buyers.
As per the specifications on the VinFast international website, the scooter comes with LFP battery boasting a capacity of 3.5 kWh. The brand asserts a range of 120 km at a steady speed of 30 kmph, with a top speed of 48 kmph. It comes with 14-inch tires mounted on alloy wheels and offers a seat height of 760 mm. Weighing 122 kg, the scooter exhibits a robust build quality.
In terms of features, it includes LED lighting, a digital instrument cluster, smartphone connectivity, and various other features. The scooter offers a charging time of 3 hours to reach 90% state of charge (SOC) and 4.8 hours to reach 100% SOC.

Verdict
VinFast will be entering the Indian market by 2025, evidenced by the initiation of its factory construction. With the patenting of both a car and now a scooter, it's evident that the brand has substantial plans for the Indian market. The VinFast Klara S is anticipated to be priced between Rs 1.2-1.3 lakh (ex-showroom) and will compete with other electric scooters in the Indian market such as the TVS iQube, Bajaj Chetak, and others within the same price bracket.
