The Volkswagen Golf GTI stands out with a bold attitude and unmistakable style. Equipped with 18-inch 'Richmond' alloy wheels (and an optional 19-inch set), distinctive GTI badges, and striking red accents, it clearly means business. The front showcases large air intakes and a sleek blacked-out grille, while the rear features a sporty diffuser and dual exhausts. A full roof spoiler ensures it catches every eye on the road. The current generation has grown significantly in size and sports very sleek LED headlights and an aggressive front bumper with a unique five-light fog lamp setup, which is a standout feature not seen in any previous Golf GTI models. Under the hood, the Golf GTI packs a punch with its 2-litre turbo-petrol engine, delivering an impressive 245 PS and 370 Nm of torque. This powerhouse is paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, sending power to the front wheels. The GTI can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 5.9 seconds and boasts a top speed of 250 km/h. While the Volkswagen Polo might not be coming to India anytime soon, the Golf GTI is a notable upgrade over it with such power and torque figures.
As for the pricing, it will be a CBU unit being imported into the country, so the pricing will be around Rs. 50 lakhs. With just 250 units on the cards as of now, it will be delivered on a first come first serve basis.

The Volkswagen Golf GTI is a natural upgrade to the punchy Polo hatchback that still remains one of the dearly missed cars that buyers want back in the country. However, with the Golf GTI in limited numbers, the market response could chalkout the future plans for the brand.
