Shortly after showcasing the prototype, Volkswagen has now fully revealed the ID.4. The brand will be launching the vehicle in the international markets in the coming few months. VW had previously confirmed that it will be launching a number of electric cars in the Indian market and also showcased the I.D. Crozz concept at the 2020 Delhi Auto Expo. The Volkswagen ID.4 EV is expected to be the first VW EV to be launched in the country.
As per the details published by the Chinese authorities, the production-ready Volkswagen ID.4 EV measures 4,592 mm, 1,852, and 1,629 in length, width, and height respectively. The car gets a wheelbase of 2,765 mm and sits above the ID.3 EV hatchback, which is on sale in the European markets.

The VW ID.4 EV will be powered by a single electric motor and rear-wheel-drive configuration. The power and torque output from this setup stands at 201 bhp and 310 Nm. A twin-motor with a 4WD version is also expected to be introduced later. The 4WD version is expected to be powered by 306 bhp powertrain churning out 450 Nm of peak torque. The top-spec VW ID.4 is expected to receive an 83kWh battery pack which will help the car cover around 500 km on a single charge. The car can be charged up to 80 percent in less than 30 mins by using a fast-charging option.
The VW ID.4 EV Crossover gets a very elegant and conventional design language which looks similar to other modern VW SUVs. In terms of overall styling, the VW ID.4 looks very similar to the ID.3 hatchback but have many elements to distinguish it from the smaller, ID.3 hatchback. The ID.4 EV looks very smart and bold than most of its rivals.
