Entry-Level Volvo EX30 Launch By 2025 End

Volvo currently locally assembles the Volvo EX40 and the C40 Recharge electric SUVs in the country and while they are priced above Rs. 50 lakhs ex-showroom price, making them a premium EV with a rich price tag. The Volvo EX30 will be the smallest SUV from the brand and is expected to be priced relatively lower at around Rs. 40 lakhs ex-showroom. Volvo is exploring the possibility of locally assembling the EX30 SUV to potentially optimize its market positioning in India.

Feature Rich Interiors

The Volvo EX30 presents a compact and contemporary design, highlighted by Volvo's iconic 'Thor Hammer' headlights and distinctive split LED taillights. The interior is equally modern, featuring a prominent 12.3-inch vertical touchscreen that seamlessly integrates Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a sporty 3-spoke steering wheel, and a sleek digital instrument cluster, and features like wireless phone charging, auto-parking, 9-speaker Harman Kardon premium sound system, 360-degree camera, 4 USB-C ports, real-time 5G connectivity, and much more.

Battery And Range Details

The Volvo EX30 offers international buyers two battery options: a 51 kWh LFP pack for 344km range with a 268hp front-motor setup, or a 69 kWh pack reaching up to 480km, with a potent 422hp dual-motor variant in the US achieving 0-100km/h in 3.4 seconds. While specific Indian market specifications remain behind curtains, considering that it is going to be the entry-level model, both these options are likely to be introduced. This will keep the entry price point lower, whereas those seeking a longer range can opt for the bigger battery pack.

Verdict

The entry level Volvo is going to re-define the market penetration of the brand in the now, a segment which is now not so nascent stage in the country. If the local assembly comes to life, the price point could be more rationally regulated to offer an attractive price point to better its market appeal.
