The deliveries of the Volvo XC40 Recharge have now started. This locally assembled electric SUV is priced at Rs 55.90 lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi. The Swedish carmaker received 150 orders when they first officially opened the bookings of the eSUV and the number currently stands at 500. Volvo is also saying that they will deliver the 100 units before the end of this year.
The XC40 Recharge is powered by a 78kWh battery pack that belts out 402 bhp of power with a peak torque of 660 Nm. It gets a certified WLTP driving range of 418 km and its boot space sticks to 419 litres. This electric SUV gets an AWD set-up. Its ground clearance sticks to 175 mm.
Feature-wise, it gets dual-zone climate control, 360-degree camera, electronic IRVM, panoramic sunroof, adaptive cruise control, power-adjustable front seats, LED headlights, LED daytime running lights, LED taillights, 9.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and more.

This delivery is historic as this not only marks the beginning of our journey towards becoming an all-electric car company by 2030 but also will be the first car which is being delivered under our ambitious Online Direct Sales model.
The response to the XC40 Recharge has been really encouraging with 150 car orders received online within 2 hours of opening bookings. I am delighted to announce that we already have close to 500 advance orders with us, and we will be delivering around 100 of them before the year-end. The rest of the customers will get their cars during the next year.

Verdict
Considering the price of the XC40 Recharge which is at Rs 55.90 lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi, it is a good alternative to the Kia EV6 and the BMW i4. In addition to this, the driving range of 418 km also works in favour of those who do long commutes.
