With a 7.1L fuel tank, it offers stability and comfort. Expected to launch in India by late 2025 at Rs. 1.50-1.60 lakh.
Design: The Yamaha Nmax 155 boasts a quintessential maxi-scooter design, featuring a large and bold front apron, twin-pod LED headlights, and a tall windscreen that adds to its aggressive aesthetics.The scooter has blacked-out panels that dominate its styling and give it a modern and sporty appeal. The feet-forward seating position ensures maximum rider comfort and makes it ideal for city commutes as well as longer journeys. The sleek body panels and ergonomic layout enhance its visual charm and practicality.
Power and Performance: At the heart of the Nmax 155 lies a 155cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine, shared with the R15 V4, MT-15 V2, and Aerox 155. This powerhouse delivers 15.1 PS of power and 13.5 Nm of torque. For transmission duties, there is a CVT gearbox which makes it perfect for urban traffic and highway cruising. Its refined engineering also ensures excellent fuel efficiency and durability.
Features: The Yamaha Nmax 155 comes equipped with a host of advanced features. It includes all-LED lighting for better visibility, a fully digital LCD instrument cluster with smartphone connectivity, and keyless ignition for added convenience. Hardware:
The Nmax 155 shares its platform with the Aerox 155 but features several enhancements. It comes equipped with 14 inch wheels, telescopic front forks, and dual rear shock absorbers for a balanced and smooth ride. The scooter has a larger 7.1-litre fuel tank compared to the Aerox’s 5.5-litre capacity, ensuring fewer fuel stops during long rides. With a kerb weight of 131 kg, the Nmax is slightly heavier than its sibling and this eventually results in better stability and road presence.
Launch and Price: Yamaha plans to launch the Nmax 155 in India by the end of 2025. It is expected to be priced between Rs. 1.50 lakh and Rs. 1.60 lakh (ex-showroom), placing it in the premium scooter segment.
Rivals: The Yamaha Nmax 155 will compete against scooters like the Aprilia SXR 160 and the upcoming Hero Xoom 160. The Nmax 155 is set to become a formidable contender in the growing maxi-scooter market with its superior performance, advanced features and unique design.
