Yamaha Tenere 700
The Tenere 700 middleweight adventure tourer was the show stopper at Yamahas display at the Auto Expo 2025. One of the most popular and capable adventure tourers worldwide, the Yamaha Tenere 700 is rumored to be launched in India. Yamaha officials are figuring out its pricing strategy for the country. Powered by Yamahas parallel-twin 689cc engine which produces 72 bhp and 68 Nm, the Tenere 700 will go against the Suzuki V-Strom 800DE and Honda Transalp if it comes to India.
Yamaha YZF-R7
Another Yamaha middleweight motorcycle which is rumoured to arrive in India for a long time is the Yamaha YZF-R7. Sharing its 689cc parallel-twin engine with the Tenere 700 in a different state of tune 72.4 bhp and 67 Nm, the Yamaha YZF-R7 is a committed supersport motorcycle, which is designed on the lines of other YZF-R series motorcycles, including the mighty YZF-R1. If this comes to India, it will go against the other middleweight sports bikes like Suzuki GSX-8R, Triumph Daytona 660 and Honda CBR650R.
Yamaha MT-09
One of the most powerful naked roadsters ever produced by Yamaha, the MT-09, in its latest, globally-available version is also speculated to arrive in India. The early iterations of the Yamaha MT-09 were sold in India for a brief period, and given the anticipation and the latest series of updates given to it, it does make sense for Yamaha to bring this motorcycle back to the Indian market. The Yamaha MT-09 is powered by an inline-three, 890.2cc engine, which produces 117.3 bhp and 93 Nm and is a direct rival to the Ducati Monster and Triumph Street Triple.
Yamaha NMax
The Yamaha Nmax is a suave-looking entry-level maxi-scooter that is sold in the Southeast Asian and European two-wheeler markets, which shares its liquid-cooled 155cc engine with the Aerox 155 that is already available in India. This premium 155cc scooter is also speculated to be launched in India for quite some time, with reports saying that Yamaha is studying its market feasibility in the country. The NMax might receive a green signal for India if it garners positive response at the Expo 2025, and can be a direct rival to the Aprilia SXR160 and Hero Xoom 160 if it comes to India.
Yamaha XTZ250 Lander
The Yamaha XTZ250 Lander is an entry-level dual-sport motorcycle, which is widely popular in the South American two-wheeler markets. The capable Yamaha Lander has a familiar air-cooled, 249cc, 20.7 bhp engine, which was offered in the FZ25 and Fazer 25 sold in India in the recent past. The Yamaha XTZ250 Lander is here at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025 purely for display, with Yamaha having no intentions of bringing it here. However, this motorcycle can be a great alternative to the Kawasaki KLX230 and Hero Xpulse 210 in the Indian two-wheeler market.
Yamaha FZ-S FI Hybrid
Touted to be Indias first hybrid motorcycle, the Yamaha FZ-S FI Hybrid debuted at the Auto Expo 2025, with the motorcycle set to be launched in the coming weeks. Based on the regular FZ-S FI, the new variant of the motorcycle gets mild-hybrid tech from Yamahas 125cc scooters, including features like idle start-stop tech, integrated starter-motor generator and torque assist. While Yamaha didnt reveal the power and torque specs of the 149cc engine of the Yamaha FS-S FI Hybrid, the new variant does get mild design changes including tank-integrated LED front turn indicators, a TFT display and new switchgear.
Yamaha Filano
Yamaha also showcased a 125cc neo-retro scooter Filano, and if reports are to be believed, this new scooter will be launched in the Indian market in the next fiscal year. The Yamaha Filano 125 was launched in the Southeast Asian car markets in 2023 and is powered by the same air-cooled 125cc engine available in the Fascino 125 Hybrid and RayZR 125 FI Hybrid. Besides a chic design, the Filano also has features like an external front fuel filler, keyless ignition and a fully digital instrument console.

Yamaha also brought its Moto-GP spec YZR-M1s, which were displayed right in the middle of their showcase area.
Yamaha also used this platform to celebrate its 40th anniversary in the Indian two-wheeler market with a separate display section, where it showcased its milestone products like RD350, RX100 and the first-generation versions of FZ and R15.
Verdict
By showcasing its globally popular motorcycles and scooters, Yamaha is checking out the public response towards them.
