2025 Bajaj Platina 110 OBD-2B: Now At Dealerships

As we move into April 2025, Bajaj has given the Platina 110 a substantial refresh, and the updated bikes have already started arriving at dealerships. The Platina 110 plays an important role in the commuter segment, and that's exactly where the new-generation Platina 110 steps in, now loaded with key updates for the 2025 model year.

To begin with, the 2025 Platina 110 appears to be getting a refreshed colour palette. In the walkaround video, the bike is spotted in a striking new shade predominantly black, accented by bright green highlights and graphics. The previous model only came in three colour themes: Ebony Black with Blue, Ebony Black with Red, and Cocktail Wine Red with Orange graphics. Beyond the new colours, there are a few design tweaks as well. Notably, the MY25 model features a chrome bezel around the headlamp, which wasn't present on the older version, giving the front fascia a slightly more premium look.

While the semi-digital instrument cluster and other loadings have been carried over from the MY24 model, it gets a USB charging port, which is a big addition considering the modern on-the-go charging needs. This makes it suitable for longer-range travels with your GPS on, without having the anxiety of running out of charge on your phone.

Engine Details: Now OBD-2B Compliant

The biggest update in the 2025 Bajaj Platina 110 lies in its engine. It has been upgraded to meet the latest BS6 Phase 2 OBD-2B emission norms, which have become mandatory for all vehicles in India from April 1, 2025. To comply with these stricter regulations, Bajaj has swapped out the electronic carburettor for a modern fuel injection system. The previous setup with the electronic carburettor produced about 8.5 bhp of peak power and 9.81 Nm of torque, paired with a 4-speed gearbox. With this upgrade, these performance figures could see slight changes, along with potential improvements in fuel efficiency.

Verdict

The OBD-2B updates are mandatory and while bikes are being updated mechanically, various bikemakers are adding in required updates to make it a more comprehensive offering in their respective class. However, going by the updates with the Platina, the MY25 model sure gives it a much more practical and visual appeal, something daily commuters will cherish.
