Bajaj Pulsar NS160
The Bajaj Pulsar NS160 is a streetfighter-style commuter, for riders who want sharp styling and engaging performance in the 160cc segment. What makes it popular, is its aggressive NS design language and strong mid-range performance, while also offering a perimeter frame and refined engine. The overall package feels sporty yet practical enough for daily commuting. That said, its feature list is functional rather than cutting-edge, and some rivals offer more modern tech. The NS160 makes the most sense for riders looking for a balanced mix of performance, handling and everyday usability without stretching their budget too far.

Should I buy the Pulsar NS160?
The Bajaj Pulsar NS 160 is a fast commuter-cum-sports bike that offers a good combination of power & looks. The design is striking, and the road presence is also good. Also, with its rich redline performance, the engine of it is fuel-efficient as well. Meanwhile, the comfortable riding position is easy to ride within the city. It has fewer features as compared to rivals, and hence we suggest it to buyers who want a cheap, yet fast bike at this price.
- The design of the Pulsar NS 160 is based on the bigger NS 200. It looks sharp and aggressive overall. The rear profile is a bit skinny due to the thinner tyre. But, the design is made to appeal to young buyers. The proportions of the bike are also well designed while the new colour options with graphics look better on the road.
- In terms of comfort, the riding position of the NS 160 is decent for city riding. The handlebar is a bit forward set while the footpegs for the rider are a bit rear set. This combo gives a comfortable yet commanding riding posture. The seat cushioning is also enough and the rider can sit on the bike easily for a long duration.

| Ground Clearance | 176 mm |

- The 160-cc liquid-cooled engine of the NS 160 offers very strong mid-range and top-end performance. As the nature of the bike is aggressive riding, the redline performance is very strong for the NS 160. But the mid-range is also very usable for everyday riding. Below 2,000 rpm, you might feel a lack of torque, but past it, the bike becomes very smooth to ride.
- The 5-speed transmission is very slick to use as well. It has short throws, and you’ll not get any false neutrals while riding the bike.
- The fuel economy of the NS 160 is above 50 km/h inside the city. During our test ride, we achieved more than 51 km/h in the mixed city and highway riding conditions.
Pulsar NS160 engine specifications:
| Transmission | Manual |
| Mileage | 52.2 |
| Engine | 160.3 cc |
- The USD front suspension & pre-load adjustable rear suspension offer a pliant yet comfortable ride quality on the NS 160. The front feels a bit rigid while going over sharp potholes, otherwise, the bike is always comfortable. Also, with a pillion, the rear suspension feels confident on curves & bends. The high speed stability of the NS 160 is also very good and one can comfortably cruise 80-90 kmph on it all day long.
- Due to its lightweight chassis, the bike is very easy to handle. Also, the upright riding position offers easy manoeuvrability inside the city. At high speeds on the highway, the handling remains confident, but, the bike flickers during the strong crosswinds due to its lightweight.
- The brakes are very good on the NS 160. They offer strong bite and good feedback. In fact, even after riding the bike for a long duration, the brakes remain strong. Additionally, the dual-channel ABS offers good response and safety.
- The features list is very moderate on the NS 160. It has 17-inch alloy wheels and a semi-digital instrument console. Sadly, there is no Bluetooth smartphone connectivity, no latest features like riding modes, etc.
