Bajaj Pulsar 220F
Bajaj has refreshed its Pulsar 220F this year with a new look, including a stylish LED lighting setup, a digital cluster with Bluetooth connectivity, and other updated features. The bike now sports a muscular, sharp design with a sculpted tank and a sporty tail section. It offers good comfort and handling, though adding a 6-speed gearbox instead of the current 5-speed could improve performance. Overall, the Pulsar 220F remains a great choice for buyers, combining affordability with the familiar design of its predecessors.

Expert Verdict on Pulsar 220F
The Bajaj Pulsar 220F is a sleek sports bike that continues to command attention on the road, even after over a decade. Its powerful engine is great for high-speed highway rides. It provides both speed and comfort. However, it is too long in the tooth of Bajaj now. It feels old in every possible manner. We feel that rivals offer better value than the 220F.

Pros & Cons of Bajaj Pulsar 220F
Should I buy the Pulsar 220F?
The Bajaj Pulsar 220F is a famous commuter sports bike. It is aimed at young customers who want performance on a budget. Its bigger dimensions and powerful engine performance offer an exciting riding experience. However, it looks and feels outdated now in front of the competition. Also, it doesn’t get the latest features like LED lights and connected tech. If you love its design then buying it makes sense else rivals offer better.
- It is undeniable that the Pulsar 220F looks amazing in the flesh. The bike seems bigger than the photos and it attracts a lot of attention as well. Its unique front fairing with projector headlight looks equally good. But, it is now outdated in every way. Bajaj should change its design radically now.
- The overall quality as well as fit and finish are above average. It has some areas that feel low-cost. Cost-cutting is evident throughout its build. However, the paint quality is nice on it.
- The split seats of the Pulsar 220F are quite comfortable. The cushioning is nice and the riding position is upright. It feels comfortable to sit and you can easily ride it for long hours.
Pulsar 220F body specifications:
Seat Height | 795 mm |
Weight | 160 kg |
Wheel Size | 17 inch |
Fuel Tank Capacity | 15 liters |
- The 220cc DTSI oil-cooled engine of it is punch-packed. The bike has good low-end torque and it feels responsive to ride in the city at low speeds. However, its mid-range is the highlight of this engine. You can easily pull the bike from as low as 50 kmph to 100 kmph in top gear.
- Vibrations are well controlled from it and the heating is also negligible in traffic.
- The 5-speed transmission is slick to use in the city but on the highway, it feels short-geared. This engine demands a longer 6-speed transmission on the highways.
- The ride quality is very comfortable and soft. The suspension is tuned for comfort. So, with a rider on the back, it bottoms out over sharp bumps and potholes. In a straight line, it performs well and remains calm yet confident.
- Handing of it is made for straight-line high-speed riding. Inside the city, the long turning radius doesn’t help. Also, around sharp corners, it doesn’t feel as confident as rivals.
Pulsar 220F engine specifications:
Mileage | 40 kmpl |
Engine Displacement | 164.82 cc |
Top Speed | 136 kmph |
Power | 20.11 bhp @ 8500 rpm |
Torque | 18.55 Nm @ 7000 rpm |
- The Bajaj Pulsar 220F lacks a lot in terms of features. It gets an old semi-digital instrument console that displays basic info only. It doesn’t get LED lights or Bluetooth connectivity.
- The twin-projector headlight setup looks good and the light has widespread throw. The intensity of the headlight could’ve been better.
- Bajaj offers disc brakes on both ends of the 220F. The brake bite is strong and it inspires confidence in the rider. However, it only gets a single-channel ABS in terms of safety equipment.
