2025 Hero Passion Plus Is Now OBD-2B Compliant, & More

Hero MotoCorp continues to stay on the front foot, actively refreshing its lineup with timely updates and emission-compliant models, just as we saw with the Karizma XMR 210. Now, another commuter motorcycle from Hero, the 2025 Hero Passion Plus OBD-2B, has been quietly launched at Rs 82,651 in India. With this update, Hero has introduced two fresh colour schemes Bluish Teal and Sports Red Black replacing the older Black Grey Stripe and Sport Red options, while also ensuring compliance with the latest OBD-2B emission norms.

The Passion Plus comes equipped with practical features such as Combi braking system, a mobile charging port, a self-start function, a side-stand engine cut-off, and Hero's signature i3S start-stop technology. Built on a double cradle frame, the bike features telescopic front forks and twin rear shock absorbers for suspension. Stopping power comes from 130mm drum brakes on both wheels. It rides on 18-inch alloy wheels, fitted with an 80-section tyre at the front and a 100-section tyre at the rear, both of which are tubeless. The motorcycle offers a ground clearance of 168mm, a seat height of 790mm, and a kerb weight of 115kg.

Powertrain
The 2025 Passion Plus continues to use the familiar 97.2cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine, which it shares with the Splendor Plus and HF Deluxe. However, it has now been upgraded to comply with the latest OBD-2B emission regulations. This motor delivers 8.02PS at 8,000 rpm and 8.05Nm of torque at 6,000 rpm, paired with a four-speed transmission.
It continues to rival other commuters in the segment like the Bajaj Platina, Honda Shine 100, and others.
Verdict
The Hero Passion Plus getting the OBD update and new colourways, sits very much in line with the current diretion that the brand is going. It is making required adjustments to its portfolio, along with some new introductions in pipeline. The Karizma XMR 250 is the next big thing that could draw some much desired attention to the Karizma series, something that has been somewhat sluggish in its appeal.
