Pros & Cons of Syros
What we admire in this car
Boasts a boxy and unique exterior, making it one of the most stylish compact SUVs in its segment.
Loaded with advanced features like a large 12.3 inch touchscreen infotainment system, Bose sound system, and ventilated seats, it offers great value for money.
Two engine options including turbocharged options ensures a variety of choices to suit performance and efficiency needs.
The interior materials and build quality are premium and provide a good feel.
Equipped with 6 airbags, ABS, ESC, and ADAS (in top variants), it ensures driver and passenger safety.
Big on space on the inside, the reclining and sliding rear seat offers good space
Big boot space of up to 465 litres
The base variant is equipped with a decent number of features
What could have been better
The carmaker is not offering any naturally aspirated engine with the Syros. The availability of an NA engine can make the model more affordable.
The turbocharged petrol variants may not be as fuel-efficient as naturally aspirated engines.
Whereas the design part is unique and stylish for many, Syros’s design may look polarising to some who are inclined toward conventional aesthetics.
Not a driver’s car, the Syros offers decent ride quality but it is not meant for dynamism and enthusiastic driving
The suspension is on the softer side which can be a concern for some peopl
The placement of the headlamps could have been better, they are prone to get scratched easily
KIA Syros Detailed Review
- The Syros is the first car under the new Kia 2.0 programme, and as such it receives futuristic styling and other elements inspired by the bigger cars in its lineup.
- The nose is blanked out, similar to an EV, but it gets an actual grille lower down. The front bumper gets a chrome skid plate as well.
- The headlamps are vertically-stacked LED units, with DRLs placed on the side. This setup looks similar to what we have seen on the Carnival.
- The side profile is probably the most futuristic angle of the car, featuring a unique B-pillar treatment, flush-fitting door handles, and 17-inch crystal-cut alloy wheels.
- The rear also has plenty of traces of the EV9, featuring L-shaped sleek LED tail lights, flared arches, and a silver skid plate treatment on the bumper.
- The MY26 Kia Syros comes with an updated exterior, featuring new bumpers at both the front and rear. The front bumper gets body-coloured aero inserts, glossy black skid plates, and the addition of LED fog lamps.
- At the rear, the design is enhanced with an LED high-mounted stop lamp and a redesigned bumper with body-coloured aero inserts. The side profile is further strengthened with glossy black roof rails and ORVMs, along with body-coloured side garnish.
- The MY26 HTX and HTX(O) variants now feature a new set of 17-inch sporty crystal-cut alloy wheels with neon-coloured brake calipers.
- Further enhancing its visual appeal, the MY26 Syros also introduces new colour options, including Magma Red, Ivory Silver Matte, and Ivory Silver Gloss.
