Tata Sierra
The Tata Sierra is a lifestyle-focused midsize SUV aimed at buyers seeking something more distinctive than the usual segment offerings. It stands out for its neo-retro design, successfully reviving an iconic nameplate while combining it with a spacious cabin, premium ambience, and strong road presence. The unique glasshouse and feature-rich interior further elevate its appeal, helping it stand apart from a sea of lookalike SUVs. The overall package feels aspirational yet practical enough for everyday family use. That said, Tata’s after-sales experience and long-term quality consistency remain factors prospective buyers may want to keep in mind.

Should I buy the Sierra?
If you're looking for a midsize SUV that offers more personality than the typical segment choices, the Tata Sierra combines distinctive styling, a spacious cabin, strong feature count, and excellent ride comfort into a package that feels genuinely unique. It may not be the outright enthusiast's choice, and Tata's after-sales experience still warrants consideration, but few rivals offer the same balance of character and practicality. If standing out matters as much as everyday usability, the Sierra is one of the most eye-catching new SUVs in the market
- The Sierra has been transformed into a properly modern product for today’s times, and it stays true to the concept version shown in the 2025 Auto Expo. There are many callbacks to the original Sierra as well, such as the B-pillar and three-door treatment, along with other touches here and there inside and out.
- There are many gloss black finishes as well, with the front-end featuring an almost EV-like closed-off surface. The grille does not get too visible until you look closer. The LED headlamps are slim and sleek, and they are standard across all variants. It also gets a slim strip connecting the headlamps.
- The modern touches continue with the flush-fitting door handles, and there are three wheel options, ranging from 17-inches to 19-inches depending on the variant you choose. At the rear, there is no spare wheel and the slim light strip with the embedded tail lamps give it a modern, clean look.
Sierra body specifications:
| Wheel Size | R17, R18 & R19 |
| Seating Capacity | 5 seaters |
| Ground Clearance | 205 mm |
| Boot Space | 622 liters |

- This time around, the Sierra gets two petrol engine options, in addition to a diesel unit. Taking on the Hyundai Creta, the Sierra gets a new 1.5-litre, nat-asp petrol engine, producing 104bhp and 145Nm of torque, paired to either a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.
- The highly-anticipated Hyperion 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine has also finally arrived, producing 157bhp and 255Nm of torque. Unlike the nat-asp, the Hyperion turbo-petrol comes solely with a 6-speed Aisin torque converter automatic transmission.
- Meanwhile, the diesel engine is also a 1.5-litre unit, producing 116bhp and between 260-280Nm of torque, depending on whether you choose the manual or the automatic transmission. These figures make it on-par when compared to its rivals.
- First in its segment to offer a triple-screen layout: two 12.3-inch displays, a 10.5-inch driver screen, a central-console JBL soundbar and Harman’s Horizon View system with a 12-speaker JBL Black setup, Dolby Atmos, Logic7 surround sound, and a Sonic Shaft soundbar for clearer vocals.
- Other features include 6-way power seats with memory and welcome function, a thigh-support extender, adjustable armrest, a head-up display, front ventilated seats, three relax modes, eight ambient lighting themes, Boss Mode, multiple terrain modes, an electric boot with gesture control, and 19-inch alloy wheels.
