The Mantis is one beautiful-looking e-bike. It is loaded with lots of features and a long-range battery. But, the issues like poor build quality with screen lagging & moderate performance, we think the price tag is too high. Better buy the F77 at this price point or wait for Mantis to improve.

Design, Size, & Road Presence 9

The best part about the Mantis is its unique design. Inspired by the Mantis insect bug, the front design has two projector LED headlamps which look very attractive. Also, the sharp extensions on the fuel tank & the short tail section design make for a very appealing design.

The size of the Mantis is also moderate. It's neither small & nor big. Due to the dimensions, it is easy to ride and balance the Mantis inside the city traffic. However, the open battery placement is not something all will love.

The road presence is the most unique & strongest point for Mantis. All thanks to the design elements of it, it turns a lot of heads on the road. So, if you're looking for a very different design that attracts attention; Mantis will offer you that in every true sense.

Ergonomics & Comfort 8

The riding ergonomics of Mantis are very sorted. The handlebar position along with rear-set footpegs offer a commanding yet comfortable riding position. We believe that tall riders will enjoy this position more. However, no concerns even if a short rider is riding it. One can easily put their foot down in traffic. The only thing we didn't like was the width of the battery. It does hinder at times when placing the foot on the footrests.

The overall comfort of the Mantis is much better for rides. The commanding riding position is well-supported by well-cushioned seats. We love how Mantis can be your everyday commuter which is comfortable to ride for long hours as well.

Battery, Performance, & Charging 7

On paper, Mantis offers a very long-riding range and one of the best performance figures in the e-bike segment. But, the on-road performance is completely different. While we've not yet tested the claimed riding range of 221 km/charge, we suspect that it can do 200+ km on a charge. But, the top speed of 135 kmph seems gimmicky. The power delivery is very linear and it'll not excite you as it should.

The 0-100 kmph is claimed to be in 8.9 seconds. The F77 does it in 7.8 seconds. Also, Mantis doesn't even feel so fast on the tarmac as the F77. The motor heats up very fast. Despite the liquid-cooled motor, heat management is one of the prime issues on it.

Charging the 20,500W electric motor can be done via a fast charger. Orxa claims that 0-80 percent of charge can be achieved in just 5 hours with a fast charger.

Features & Specifications 5

Just like any other EV, the Mantis also comes loaded with all bells & whistles like LED lights, digital console, Bluetooth connectivity, etc. However, there are a lot of issues related to the working of the electricals. For example, the screen takes upwards of 20 seconds to light up after the ignition. Also, the lights take a few seconds to light up before you can use them.

Orxa has loaded the Mantis with 17-inch alloy wheels, disc brakes at both ends, telescopic front suspension, & preload adjustable rear monoshock.
