The i5 LWB is BMW's first locally produced electric sedan in India, and a longer-wheelbase version of the i5 built specifically for Indian buyers. Priced at Rs 79.6 lakh, nearly Rs 40 lakh below the imported i5, it makes BMW's electric luxury sedan meaningfully more accessible. The stretched wheelbase and rear air suspension are built around a chauffeur-driven experience, offering generous rear knee room and a plush ride. BMW hits it out of the park with the i5 LWB. It's longer, offers more range and packs more equipment than the standard i5 - yet doesn't demand a steep premium for the additions. It's a win-win for everyone involved. DC fast charging up to 160 kW means a 10-80% top-up in just 33 minutes, so range anxiety isn't really a concern. With the added focus on rear-seat comfort and the rear air suspension thrown in, this feels tailor-made for buyers who always wanted an i7 but couldn't quite stretch to that budget.
