Last Updated On 8th Apr'23: Honda has officially discontinued the WR-V SUV from the Indian market. Along with the WR-V the brand has also discontinued the Jazz and 4th gen City from India. The brand now only offers the 5th gen City, City Hybrid and Amaze sedans in the Indian market. However, the brand is testing a new SUV for the Indian market which is expected to take the place of the WR-V and will boast new features and a new engine. The new SUV is expected to be launched in the coming months and will compete with the Hyundai Creta and other mid-size SUVs in the Indian market.

Honda WR-V Discount Offer: The Honda WR-V is the only crossover from the company that is available in the compact SUV segment. While the competition is filled with rivals offering more comfort & luxury along with some exclusive features; the Honda WR-V still beholds the stature of being one of the fuel-efficient cars in the segment. Honda WR-V is available with two different engine options. One is a petrol 1.5-liter, that is sourced from the sibling cars like the Honda City. The other is a 1.5-liter turbocharged diesel engine that offers class-leading fuel economy figures. Currently, WR-V is priced from Rs 8.88 lakh to Rs 12.08 lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi. It gets Rs 10,000 as an exchange bonus, Rs 5,000 as a corporate offer, Rs 7,000 as a loyalty exchange, and another Rs 5,000 as a loyalty bonus. Honda offers the WR-V in 1.2L petrol and 1.5L diesel engine options. The petrol is mated to a 5-speed stick shift while the diesel gets a 6-speed manual transmission.

The overall looks and design of the WR-V are majorly based on the Jazz hatchback. Whereas the Jazz is a moreover a hatchback with low ground clearance; WR-V offers more practicality with 188 mm of ground clearance. Honda has used projector LED headlights and LED taillights for the WR-V to distinguish it from the regular Jazz. Diamond-cut alloy wheel design and the overall looks of the WR-V have made it desirable among the new customers. Just recently we also spotted the facelift version of the Honda WR-V too. Overall, the design is not that sharp yet it stands out from the crowd since it is quite simple.

The 1.2-Lt, the i-VTEC petrol engine is a gem of an engine which has already proved its reliability and abuse friendly-nature globally. The Jazz-sourced petrol engine makes 90 hp of power and 110 Nm of peak torque. It uses a 5-speed manual gearbox. The petrol WR-V can achieve an ARAI-claimed 16.5 kmpl of fuel economy.
Honda also offers the City sedan-sourced 1.5-Lt, i-DTEC, turbo-diesel which produces a healthy 100 hp of peak power and 200 Nm of peak torque. Honda provides a 6-speed manual gearbox option for this engine. The diesel WR-V can attain an ARAI-claimed 23.7 kmpl of fuel economy. Honda only offers WR-V with manual transmission and there is no automatic on offer. It is a huge drawback for people looking to buy a crossover with an automatic gearbox. If you are looking for crunching more miles on the highway and want a good fuel economy then it is the diesel engine that will do the justice.

It certainly is not a racing car but there is enough torque for the hills. It is ideal for cruising along at around 100kmph on the highways. The view from inside is great. The roof window is good at night and in the early mornings. Driving is easy, only you will sometimes forget to move to the 6th gear at times. Climate control is a great feature in our country and the car does not feel like a refrigerator. A comfortable 26-27 C will make the journey comfy. 3 mid-size people will fit in comfortably in the rear and the NVH levels are good. The intuitive dynamic color in the speedometer ensures you are driving correctly. The ICE is good and the sound is clear. Easy to get in and get out is what my mother likes a lot.
