Volkswagen Golf GTI

Last Updated On 6th Feb'25: Volkswagen is bringing the Golf GTI to India, and we at 91Wheels have confirmed this news. It will be imported as a CBU unit, with only 150 units available at launch. As for pricing, it is expected to start around Rs 55-60 lakh, and in a few months, dealers will begin the pre-booking process. 

Design: India will get the eighth generation of the VW Golf GTI (MK8), which was introduced in 2022. This version of the GTI has been updated with several technological and styling changes that make it an even more thrilling experience. This version features sharper-looking LED headlights along with connecting LED DRLs and a huge hexagon-pattern grille. 18-inch alloy wheels with all-season tires are standard, but VW also offers 19-inch ones optionally. Apart from that, the rear profile features two exhausts finished with chrome tips that add an elegant touch to this aggressive-looking vehicle. Lastly, the LED tail-lights design is also quite captivating.

Powertrain: Ah, the 2.0L TSI 16-valve DOHC turbo 4-cylinder engine, produces 241 hp and 370 Nm of torque, and internationally is available with a 7-DSG or optionally available 6MT. Talking about India, Golf GTI might come with just 7-DSG as limited units of it will be brought here. 

Features: A large 12.3-inch infotainment screen is present, along with a 10-inch Digital Cockpit Pro that features real-time performance data like G-force and torque output. Additionally, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are available, along with a 10-speaker Harman Kardon premium surround sound system. Lastly, ADAS features are included. 

Expected Price: This will be a CBU unit, and according to several media sources, only 150 units will come to India. Internationally, it starts at $34,000, so by that metric, the price seems fair, except that its starting price in India is expected to be Rs 55-60 lakh.
