Hyundai India has recently launched the facelift of its three-row SUV the Alcazar at Rs 14.99 lakh (ex-showroom). The new Hyundai Alcazar has received a lot of new elements in terms of design, and features, and the brand has given more emphasis on second-row comfort. However, the engine options of the new Alacazar are still the same as the previous model. I've recently driven the new Hyundai Alacazar in Udaipur and did a 110 km fuel efficiency run with the 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine mated with a DCT gearbox. Filling Up The Tank
We started our journey by filling up the tank to the brim. We got the car with a full tank but to the brim, the Alcazar took 16.54 litre of fuel. The mileage run was done in highway and city driving conditions. Also, the meter showed a range of 691 km on fuel up. After filling up, we reset the trip meter and headed off towards our journey to extract the mileage of the Alcazar 1.5-litre turbo petrol with 7-speed DCT gearbox.
Readings of Displayed Economy
We started early in the morning which allowed us to leave the city without much hassle from traffic. We took the readings of the displayed economy after every 30 km. The first reading showed the displayed economy of 14.2 kmpl. We were cruising at 60-70 kmph in the city while the roads were empty.
The second reading was taken at the 65.7 km mark and the displayed economy was 14.9 km/l. This increase came on the highway where we increased the speed and cruising at 80-90 kmph in the 7th gear. The car was performing well on the highway, the power delivery was smooth and linear and the gearshifts were smooth.
At the 91.9 km mark we took our 3rd reading and the displayed economy was 15.3 km/l. Now, this increase came when we continued our journey on the highway with a light foot at a speed of 80-90 km. After covering approximately 70-75 km on the highway, we entered the city with 91 km on the trip meter. We continued driving until the 110 km mark, and the city traffic over the last 19 km reduced the mileage.
Final Reading & Result
We took the final reading at 110 km which showed 14.3 km/l on the display. After the final reading, we took the car to the same fuel pump and filled the tank to the brim again. This time the Alcazar took in 7.09 litre of petrol. With a simple calculation of the distance driven divided by the fuel consumed, the Alcazar 1.5-litre petrol DCT gave us a mileage of 15.5 km/l. This mileage is extracted by driving the car in mixed conditions. Also, if we'd driven the car for more distance the number could've increased. Moreover, the mileage figures also depend on the driving style.
2024 Hyundai Alcazar Driving Experience
If we talk about the driving experience, the 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine in the Alcazar offers a good driving experience. It gives linear power and torque delivery complimented by the smooth shifts offered by the 7-speed DCT gearbox. The gearshifts are smooth and the car sits at the speed of 80-90 km/h it maintains a cruising RPM of around 1500-1600 rpm on highways. The claimed economy of the Alcazar 1.5-litre petrol DCT is nearly 18 kmpl.

Verdict
The 2024 Hyundai Alcazar has improved in many ways and the brand has given utmost importance to the cabin space and comfort. The second row seats are now more comfortable and the SUV is now more feature loaded. The engine options are same as the previous model and both performs well in the SUV.
