Hyundai Motors India yesterday launched the Venue E Plus with a sunroof. With the new addition, the automaker has made the sunroof variant more affordable for Venue buyers. The new Venue E+ has snatched the title of being the most affordable sub-compact SUV with a sunroof from the Sonet HTE (O). Both the Venue and Sonet offer similar features and power which makes it difficult for buyers to choose one. Mechanically, there is no difference between the Hyundai Venue E+ and the Sonet HTE (O). Both sub-compact SUVs come powered by a similar 1.2 litre NA engine that churns out 82 bhp of power. However, when it comes to torque, the Sonet HTE (O) generates 1 Nm more than the Venue E Plus's 114 Nm. But it doesn't make a difference as both provide a similar driving experience. For transmission duties, you get a 5-speed gearbox with both compact SUVs.

Hyundai Venue E+ Vs Kia Sonet HTE (O): Design
Being entry-level variants of the range, both the Venue E+ and the Sonet HTE (O) offer a basic set of features. These include halogen headlamps, body-coloured bumpers, door handles and 15-inch steel wheels. Additionally, there are some notable difference in the exterior of both these SUVs. The Venue gets black colored door mirrors and the Kia Sonet HTE (O) gets body coloured ORVMs.
Coming inside, the Venue E+ features a dual-tone interior which can be seen on- fabric seats, door handles and dashboard as well. In comparison, the Sonet HTE (O) gets an all black interiors that include semi-leatherette seats and silver accents on various interiors elements.

In terms of safety, the Venue E+ and the Sonet HTE (O) gets ABS with EBD, Vehicle Stability Control, Hill-start assist, vehicle stability management, 3 point seatbelts and the ISOFIX mounts for child safety. The Hyundai Venue E+ starts at Rs. 8.23 lakh while the Kia Sonet HTE (O) starts at Rs. 8.32 lakh (ex-showroom). Being slightly low priced than the Sonet can prove advantageous for the Venue E+ in terms of value for money. But keep in mind that if you pay Rs. 9000 more and opt for the Sonet HTE (O), you get some added features such as TPMS and body coloured door mirror.
